About Me

Welcome to The Faithful Hen! I'm Emilie and I love God! I live in Texas with my husband which I've been married to for 8 years. We started out as high school sweethearts and here we are over 10 years later. Together we have 2 beautiful children, Rylie Grace and Ashton Andrew.

I originally had a blog called The Working Hen, it was about my day to day life as a working mom, which at the time I was. I drifted from my original blog and started journaling. My relationship with God grew tremendously during those quiet readings and journaling time. It grew so much that He asked me to put it into a web based journal to share. As long as it reaches one person and brings them just a bit closer to God and their faith than I know I'm doing something right.

1. I love my husband, he is my rock and no one understands me like he does.

2. Between my husband and I we have 9 parents. (Ask me for details)

3. My children are my world and they have taught me a great deal about myself.

4. I love Jesus!

5. I love my church!

6. My favorite kitchen appliance is my Kuerig.

7. I am a true Texas girl. Born and raised in the Lonestar State! Hook'em!

8. My favorite hobby next to blogging would be party planning. I tend to go a little overboard for birthdays.

9. I have two dogs - Max: A white boxer and Tanner: A brindle boxer pit-terrier

10. My favorite time passer is to get lost in a book. I love romance novels, and books about marriage, parenting, homemaking, and organizing.

11. My organization skills in my head and much better than the ones I live out in everyday life.

12. I'm a Facebook fanatic. I love catching up with people and staying in tune to whats going on in the world.

13. My favorite morning show is Good Morning America! - Even though I only get to watch on occasion.

14. I am a gladiator - Scandal watcher
